Owner and professional trainer, David Rodes of Ruff Rodes Dog Training, has been training dogs since 2016. David’s beloved dogs, Berkley and Hezekiah (yes, that Berk & Kai) were the reason for his passion for helping others build stronger bonds with their dogs and achieve their goals. In 2020, David passed his examination to become a certified professional dog trainer through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers. Over the years, he has worked with thousands of dogs and handlers, mentored dozens of trainers, and flown to work with some of the best trainers across the country.

We signed our new rescue fur girl up for the 6 week level one class in November. David is kind and personable. I feel very confident in his training knowledge and that he cares for our fur babies. Everything we learned, we have continued to work on and see continued progress with Goldie at home. We have also used the daycare service, receiving pics and video. Goldie was 15 months old for the level one adult class and it helped her progress from pulling us down the street to a more relaxed leash walking experience. We have had many dogs over the years and this is the first time we did a formal dog training course, I highly recommend David and any of his services.

David was the one who was our trainer years ago when the dogs were puppies, and I’ve seen firsthand the way he promoted using positive reinforcement to train dogs. He always said we shouldn’t use pain, fear, or training devices that cause them in order to get compliance. Folks who may be worried about leaving your pets with someone you don’t know - trust me, you’d have a hard time finding someone better.
